live jazz performed on select Friday evenings at the historic
Anderson-PriceMemorialBuilding, presented by the Ormond Beach
Historical Trust. The Norm Hoffman Group jazz ensemble will be
providing the cool music, with a different selection of musicians
for each date listed above. Based in Ormond Beach, the Norm Hoffman
group is known for its monthly appearances at Mario's
Restaurant on Route 1 in Ormond Beach. Grab your friends and come
enjoy the cool sounds of jazz with café seating
in the ballroom of the Anderson-PriceBuilding, located across the
street from the scenic HalifaxRiver on North Beach Street. Join us
before or after dinner, or spend the whole
evening!
OBHT owns the historic
1916 Anderson-Price Memorial building, which was constructed as
Ormond Beach's first public library. Formerly the Ormond Beach
Woman's Club, the classical revival building is one of Ormond
Beach's architectural gems. Proceeds from Ormond Cool Jazz will
assist the Trust in its efforts to restore and preserve this
important structure.
The Ormond Beach
Historical Trust has received grants and support from the City of
Ormond Beach, the County of Volusia, the Florida Humanities
Council, and the Florida Division of Historical Resources. If you
love history and would like to become a member of the Trust, or
volunteer with us, please call the Trust office, located at the
MacDonaldHouseWelcomeCenter, 38 E. Granada Blvd., Ormond Beach, at
(386)677-7005. Visit the Trust website at www.obht.org for more
information on Trust events, programs, and
membership.
