Looking for one of Daytona Beach’s best kept secret breakfast and lunch spots? (Try saying that five times fast…). Daytona Diner is it! For 17 years, Daytona Diner has been serving up delicious comfort food. Now, in its new oceanfront location – just a four minute walk south from The Bahama House, you’re sure to find something delicious for breakfast or lunch. Their cook Joe Wilmes has been with tiner for 17 years and is still preparing the same delicious burgers, pies, breakfast specialties, and more. With a homey 50s style diner atmosphere, you can enjoy not only your meal, but a music on the jukebox and a huge selection of ever changing vintage decorations.
As you can probably tell, I am a HUGE fan of Daytona Diner. I consider myself a novice bacon connoisseur, and theirs is always cooked to perfection (as you can see below). Yeah, it’s that good! They serve breakfast all day, so I always go for a bacon related item (although their lunch selections, desserts, and pancakes are also amazing).
After today’s amazing lunch, I even got a sneak peek into the kitchen so I could photograph a fresh from the oven key lime pie – their previous pie had already sold out by noon! It looked divine, even without the whipped cream! With an ever-rotating selection of pies, muffins, and other sweets, your sweet tooth will be satisfied. If your looking on the savory side, every Thursday they serve freshly roasted turkey with all of the fixings. If you have little one in tow, they have a children’s menu including everything from a Mickey Mouse pancake to good old fashioned grilled cheese, hot dogs, and chicken fingers.
As you probably can tell if you’ve ever read this blog, I LOVE breakfast food at any time of the day. However, that doesn’t mean that breakfast food is all you can get at Daytona Diner. They have a HUGE selection of lunch items – everything from salads to hamburgers and freshly deep fried hot dogs and french fries. Their menu is huge, and the extremely friendly and helpful staff are sure to help you find a favorite if you’re indecisive. In addition to their delicious food, they also have juice, freshly brewed iced tea and coffee, chocolate milk, beer, juice, and soft drinks.
Open from 7am – 3pm daily, Daytona Diner is the perfect place for breakfast, lunch, or just a slice of pie of a scoop of ice cream. The fact that it’s less than a 5 minute walk from the Bahama House? Even better!
