Daytona Taproom Review
Our first choice upon arriving was which beer to order. That was harder than it may sound, as their draft selection is over 40+ names long! Luckily, they allow you to sample, so we both got to try a few before setting on the perfect brew to match our orders. I settled on a local brew from Tomoka Brewery, a dark porter that I would definitely recommend.
I decided before coming that I would finally try an entree I’d been eying for months – “The Sloppy Waffle.” As the name implies, the entree is a jalapeno waffle sandwich filled with perfectly seasoned “sloppy joe” marinated ground beef, green peppers, onions, and cheddar. Also stuffed between the two delicious jalapeno corn waffles were Daytona Taproom’s amazing french fries. Can it get any more delicious than that? The answer, I found, is a resounding no.My sister ordered a pretty plain burger and a side of truffle parmesan fries. Not surprisingly, I couldn’t resist stealing a few. Okay…maybe it was more like a few handfuls… Her meal was just as delicious as mine, and we both ate WAY more than we probably should have. Afterwards, we stayed around for a little while to play pool on one of their few tables while socializing with some local friends. The best part about Daytona Taproom, other than the huge beer and burger selection? It’s only a short 8 minute drive (or Uber ride) away from The Bahama House Hotel! What could be better than a delicious burger and a pint less than 10 minutes away from the comfiest beds around?
