The Ocean Deck Restaurant and Bar
A local favorite for over 50 years, The Ocean Deck Restaurant & Beach Club is a must-stop restaurant and bar on your trip to Daytona Beach. Luckily for you, it’s just a short 5 minute drive down A1A (Atlantic Avenue) from The Bahama House. The restaurant offers free valet parking – it’s THAT popular with locals and visitors alike. You can also take a relaxing walk on the beach – it only takes about 20 minutes from The Bahama House.
I have to say – I’ve been to The Ocean Deck’s upstairs restaurant more times than I can count, which means I have a TON of food recommendations. Additionally, you should definitely try to get a table by the window – the view of the beach is the best in town. One thing that’s not to be missed is the restaurant’s homemade Rasta Sauce. It’s a spicy addition to pretty much anything on the menu – from mahi tacos to grilled fish or chicken sandwiches to fried shrimp and french fries. My “usual” order is the grilled mahi sandwich, Rasta-style, of course. Also – don’t leave without trying the french fries! Honestly, they’re some of the best I’ve ever had…and I’ve tried a lot of fries (across the globe) in my day. If you’re looking for somewhat healthier options, the grilled mahi tacos are absolutely delicious. They come with a side of mango salsa and seasoned sour cream, plus your choice of sides. The ahi tuna wrap is a favorite of my Dad’s as well. To end your meal, I’d definitely recommend the key lime pie. It’s a Florida favorite! The downstairs bar (which still serves the full upstairs restaurant’s menu) is a local favorite for those 21+ and up. With an extensive, island-theme drink menu and a great selection of local beers on tap, the downstairs bar also features a live band every night during the summer. My personal favorite is C*Posse, a high energy reggae and dance band that goes along perfectly with a nighttime trip to the bar. If you’re looking for a true “island” experience, try the Bushwacker.
